Kanpur Institute of Technology was established in the year 2004 and since then has been shouldering the monumental responsibility of producing capable technocrats and managers. Run by a team of visionary and motivated IIT alumni, KIT is counted among the top-rated technical institutes of North India.
The institute is affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow (formerly U.P.T.U., Lucknow) with College Code 165. Dr. Brajesh Varshney is the Director of KIT.

The courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU).

KIT Offers comprehensive hostel facilities within the Institute campus. We understand that most of our students are moving away from home for the first time, so we strive to make the transition as smooth as possible by offering comfortable and safe hostels within the campus, providing a homely atmosphere. KIT offers separate magnificent hostels for boys and girls with hostel warden in each hostel to supervise day to day management. All the rooms have been designed to provide adequate moving space and ample air and light. Each hostel has its mess providing hygienic and nutritious meals a day.

College Fest…
1) UDBHAV
Kanpur Institute of Technology organizes its fresher’s party-“UDBHAV” every year. All the second-year students of KIT welcome the newcomers to the campus. This mesmerizing event starts with the Lamp lighting ceremony by the Management Members, Distinguished Guest & Director KIT. All Toppers of the Institute are awarded the cash prizes, Medals & Certificates by the Executive Committee Members. The program kick-starts with ramp walks & other cultural events – singing, dancing, skit, etc. At the end of so many enjoyable rounds, two freshers are crowned as “ Mr & Miss Fresher”. It is a tremendous fun-filled evening of cheers and joy for all.
UDBHAV not only celebrates entertainment but also plays an eminent role in forwarding and motivating the meritorious & talented students for their academic & co-circular activities. On this event, the students who secured a higher rank in the UPTU Entrance Examination are also honored.
2) SHIKHAR
Kanpur Institute of Technology organizes its Annual Sports Meet-‘SHIKHAR’ every year. Students from various colleges of AKTU participate with full enthusiasm in various indoor and outdoor sports events. The objective of this event is not only to enhance the sports skills of students but also to encourage the competitive spirit and positive zeal between the students of different institutions. Various colleges across Kanpur – PSIT, DAV, DBS, Rama University, Naraina, Axis, Allen house, etc; participate in the event and make it a big success. The event winds up with prize distribution ceremony and the winners were awarded trophies, certificates, and cash prizes.
3) ENGENIOUS
The annual tech fest of the institute “ENGENIOUS” is celebrated every year with enthusiasm & zeal. The lamp lighting is done by the chief guest & the management members. After the inaugural ceremony, the stage becomes lively with Ganesh stuti. The two-day event includes a tally of technical & cultural activities. Enthusiastic students participate with full confidence & interest in all the activities. Prizes for all the events are announced at the end of the event concluding with the vote of thanks extended by the Dean Student’s Welfare.
4) CONVOCATION CEREMONY
Knowing that convocation is a big day in a student’s life as it marks the culmination of their academic life.
KIT- Kanpur gives degrees and medals to all the successful candidates at various levels i.e; B.Tech, B. Pharm, MBA & MCA. This occasion is also graced by the presence of Executive Committee Members and Academic Council members – all Deans, Heads of the Departments and faculty of the Institute.
5) SWASTI
KIT celebrates it’s farewell “SWASTI” every year. All pre-final year students, Faculty & Staff Members of the college bid adieu to the final year students of all disciplines, at a grand farewell function held at the college campus. Pre-final year students perform the entertainment saga for the final year students. Management Members of the institute wish good luck to all the students as they step in into a new phase of life.
6) ALUMNI MEET
The institute organizes “ALUMNI MEET” in the college to facilitate the graduate students with an opportunity to refresh & cherish the old golden memories of college days. Alumni Meets are always memorable as it helps the students to interact once again with the college ways.
